Gayle Claris is a native of the Chapel Hill/Carrboro community. Her career began in shopping center marketing, and eventually lead to her becoming sales and marketing manager for two Internet start-up companies. In 2004, though she continued to reside in Chapel Hill, she left her position to work with her husband in the development of coastal properties and work as an active realtor with a local Topsail Island firm. In 2009, Gayle brought her career back to Chapel Hill, where she has been working as an active broker ever since.
Over the last several years, Gayle has served on the OCHAR board of directors as well as chaired the social committee. Passionate about community involvement, Gayle has worked with a number of organizations including Prevent Child Abuse NC, the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center (Jupiter Ball), the IFC, Blanket Orange, Meals on Wheels and SECU House.
Gayle lives in a home in the Lake Forest neighborhood that she and her husband Woody renovated along with their rescue miniature poodle. She has a daughter, as well as a stepson who is married with a 7 year-old son. All reside in Charlotte.
