He played a key role in the early development of Catonsville, so it's worth seeing how this diverse man lived.
Living in Catonsville also makes it easy to visit some of Baltimore County's best parks. The Joseph Beuys Sculpture Park at UMBC is a particularly interesting place. Despite its name, you won't find traditional sculptures on the grounds. Instead, you get to view oak trees and rocks that have been carefully planted to create an aesthetic experience, and it is a relaxing place to spend the afternoon.
If you are more interested in hiking than relaxing, then visit Patapsco Valley State Park along the southern border of Catonsville, Maryland. The park covers over 16,000 acres of land and stretches 32 miles along the Patapsco River, along with 170 miles of trails with varying levels of difficulty.

Most Catonsville real estate development has focused on building single-family homes. This is especially true in Catonsville neighborhoods north of the Baltimore Turnpike, which include heavily residential areas like Adil Meadows and Westview Park. There are also plenty of stand-alone homes for sale in Catonsville's southern area near Patapsco Valley State Park.
A higher population density around UMBC makes it necessary for many people to live in apartments and townhomes. While there are other multi-family buildings spread throughout Catonsville, MD, the highest concentration is near campus.
